Viva sto. nino!
Viva sto nino..
I just want to rephrase the word , Viva viva sto nino..
This is the chant of every revellers of this most wellknown celebration. This is celebrated almost in the Philippines. The feast of Sto nino.
Last January 9, celebration was the festivity of Nuestra Padre Jesus Nazareno,or commonly known as Black Nazarene which millions of filipinos attended. This is the most numbers of participants of the year. In Aklan, sto. nino is also celebrated a in third week of January, called ati-atihan, and cebu, for sinulog and here in tondo where the celebration is almost the same. The statues of baby Jesus, or sto nino were being brought to parade donned with different colors and floats. The revellers are also wearing different colors or themes. And the band following makes a loud noise as they parade the streets. This is the colorful celebration of the year where every filipinos are cooperating with. And of course the foods they prepared and stuffs are the symbol of gratitude to God , of being blessed and for more blessings to come to every believers. I personally , experience how people were engrossed with the celebration and during the conviviality itself shows how devoted people were. Just like in Quiapo, during the day of celebration, of The black nazarene the place is like a diamond in a hay stack. And transportation is also paralized. My second time to witness of this event and as it goes yearly people are getting devoted. More people are attending the feast of black nazarene believing that blessings and good luck will be granted to the one who believes it.
The feast of sto nino is also, another form of celebration where people spent time to street dance around the city holding their own sto nino.
So next time , try to check that out!
and be with those people who celebrates this kind of festivity. This is a meaningful experience!
